FAUSTO MASNADA AND SELLE SAN MARCO TRIUMPH IN THE 6th STAGE OF THE GIRO D’ITALIA

The climber from Team Androni Giocattoli Sidermec claims the finish line in San Giovanni Rotondo

Rossano Veneto (VI, Italy), 16 May, 2019 - Selle San Marco is feeling Pink. Fausto Masnada (Team Androni Giocattoli Sidermec) has won the sixth stage of the 102nd Giro d’Italia, which covered 238 km from Cassino to San Giovanni Rotondo.

For the climber from Team Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, this is his first career success at the Giro d’Italia. Masnada had already started standing out in April, proving to be on top form when he won two stages in the Tour of the Alps.

After the start in Cassino, the stage heated up right out of the gate with 13 riders breaking away from the group. With about 28 Km to go to the finish line, Fausto Masnada launched a decisive attack on the Coppa Casarinelle; only Valerio Conti (UAE – Team Emirates) managed to keep up. The two counter attackers managed to gain about a 30’’ lead on the chasing pack, jostling for the stage victory on the final finish line in San Giovanni Rotondo.

Team Androni Giocattoli Sidermec had already made an impact with their riders in these first stages of the Giro d’Italia, particularly in the breakaways by Marco Frapporti and Miguel Florez, as well as with some nice placements for the sprinter Manuel Belletti, who finished twice in the Top Ten.

Thanks to Fausto Masnada’s impressive feat, Team Androni Giocattoli Sidermec’s technical partner, Selle San Marco, has won another stage in the Giro d’Italia. Fausto Masnada’s bicycle is equipped with the Aspide Racing Pro Series model by Selle San Marco. This saddle is light, comfortable and offers exclusive performance…today it was also a winner on the roads of the Giro d’Italia.
