FREDERIK BACKAERT 11TH DESPITE CRASH

Despite a crash on the Donderij cobbles Frederik Backaert rode to a nice 11th place in the opening classic Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Also Guillaume Van Keirsbulck (21st) and Yoann Offredo (27th) showed themselves in the final of the race. Pieter Vanspeybrouck had some bad luck.

"In the beginning of the race the pace was high because it took a long time to establish a breakaway. Afterwards the speed dropped in the peloton. We tried to stay in front with four guys the whole time.
