Kenny Elissonde pens a two-year deal with Trek-Segafredo Trek-Segafredo is pleased to announce they have come to an agreement with French climber Kenny Elissonde. Kenny Elissonde is currently riding with Team Ineos and although only 28-years-old, has already seen many years in the WorldTour. He first turned pro in 2012 and won a stage in the Vuelta a España a year later, taking victory atop the infamous Angliru. Elissonde is a thoroughbred climber and has been a vital support rider for the leaders in Team Ineos. Kenny Elissonde: “I am obviously very happy to join Trek-Segafredo next year. I had extensive talks with Luca (Guercilena, General Manager of Trek-Segafredo) who right away convinced me of the team’s project. I am really looking forward to coming to Trek-Segafredo and starting to work with new people and learning new things. In the next years, I hope to return to my aggressive way of racing and shine again while doing my utmost for the leaders of the team.” Luca Guercilena: “We have had an eye on Kenny for a while and found it was the right time to sign him. He is a solid climber and a proven team player, and we expect him to be a great support rider for our GC-riders in the mountain stages, exactly what we need.
