Matteo Moschetti sustains an acetabular fracture Matteo Moschetti was involved in a crash this Friday, February 7th, during the third stage of the French race L'Etoile de Bessèges. The incident occurred around 15 km to the finish and the 23-year-old Italian, who never lost consciousness throughout the ordeal, was immediately transported to Hospital Centre Alès-Cévenne where he was diagnosed with a fracture of the acetabulum and the dislocation of the right femur. "Matteo underwent a procedure under anesthesia to reduce the dislocation, put the limb in traction and free the joint. Further medical check-ups ruled out further fractures or trauma to other parts of the body. This Saturday, he will undergo a new CT scan to determine whether surgery will be necessary," said Team doctor Gaetano Daniele, who accompanied Moschetti to the hospital. Moschetti had begun the 2020 season on a high, netting two wins in his first race of the year in Challenge Mallorca. Trek-Segafredo will update on the medical condition of the rider as new information becomes available. ::Trek-Segafredo - Press Release:: | ||
