After five amazing years, Luxembourger Bob Jungels is leaving the team, but no matter what, he’ll always remain a wolf.

Bob Jungels joined Deceuninck – Quick-Step ahead of the 2016 season and has since been an important contributor to the team’s massive haul of wins, bagging in over a dozen victories himself. But maybe what was more impressive than his triumphs – many of them truly memorable – was his quality as a character and the impact he had on The Wolfpack – whose spirit, commitment, panache and professionalism he perfectly embodies.

Liège–Bastogne–Liège, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, two top 10 finishes at the Giro d’Italia (topped by winning the white jersey on both occasions and a resounding stage victory), two World TTT Championships gold medals in Doha and Innsbruck, and multiple titles at the National Championships – these were the highlights of Bob’s outstanding five-year tenure with the Wolfpack, results that strengthened his legacy as one of the best riders in the history of Deceuninck – Quick-Step.

“We would have liked to keep Bob and we’re a bit sad at the thought of his departure, but it is as it is, this is cycling. Bob was one of our best riders in the past couple of years, he brought many memorable results in Grand Tours but also in the Classics, where he netted our first Liège–Bastogne–Liège win after a dazzling long-range attack. He’s also one of the founding members of the original Wolfpack generation and he’ll forever have a special place here”, said Deceuninck – Quick-Step CEO Patrick Lefevere.
